As a HR Advisor, you’ll be a key member of the HR team, providing timely, accurate and effective generalist HR support. You will have the autonomy to take ownership of key projects and provide advice and support to employees and management at all levels.

About You

You will have a minimum of 2 years HR Generalist experience in a fast moving, results oriented organisation. A Business/HR qualification is desirable but not essential; however, you are likely to be working towards, or willing to work towards, CIPD accreditation.

Personal characteristics of resilience, high drive and a desire to get things done along with a strong attention to detail are also key requirements.

The business is highly sales and customer focused and therefore members of all the support functions, including HR, must be able to adapt to changing priorities in this context.

Experience in handling the HR aspects of acquisition and HR systems implementation would be an advantage.

Key Deliverables

  • Establish good working relationships with key stakeholders. Develop and manage effective internal HR relationships (e.g. training and development, resourcing, etc.), ensuring a seamless delivery of HR services.
  • Provide proactive and reactive specialist advice to the organisation in all aspects of Human Resources.
  • Support and coach where necessary in all ER investigations, disciplinaries and grievances.
  • Provide consistent advice in line with legislation and Company policy and procedures, ensuring consistency within the wider HR team.
  • Contribute to and deliver the Human Resources plan for JLA.
  • Manage key projects, e.g. team working, engagement and retention.
  • Be an active member of the HR team, developing and encouraging junior members of staff and exchanging information to ensure consistency of approach.
  • Provide accurate and timely monthly reporting to the Company Leadership and management.
  • Play a full role in the administration of the Employee lifecycle (New Starter on boarding process, Probation, Salary changes, Leavers etc.)
  • Take full responsibility for auditing the monthly payroll schedule and documentation, ensuring that this is forwarded by payroll deadlines.
  • Maintain the HR database with exceptional accuracy.

Key Skills and Attributes

  • Broad HR knowledge and experience at advisory level, with experience of managing a HR database
  • Sound organisational ability and good administration skills teamed with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Methodical and proactive approach to duties
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word and Excel
  • Ability to manage relationships with focus on high quality service
  • Energetic, resilient and flexible team member with a high self-starter drive
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively
  • Results orientated and pragmatic
  • Able to work to deadlines with focus on results and quality of service at all times
  • Able to prioritise and re-prioritise to fit the needs of the business
