What the role involves?

The Warehouse Operations Manager reports to the Group Supply Chain Director and is responsible for two warehouse managers, a workshop manager, a transport manager and a team of warehouse and workshop operatives.

Accountabilities

  • Accountable for workload allocation and effective throughput of all JLA products and ancillaries.
  • Co-ordinate resources (operational and human), schedules or activities to effectively manage warehouse and workshop activities associated with all customer order types.
  • Responsible for the monitoring of ‘inflows’ and ‘outflows’ of the entire Supply Chain function meeting customer demand.
  • Meet regularly with key internal stakeholders to stay ahead of demand ensuring any new product implementation has the appropriate supporting stock required for customer orders.
  • Manage a group of direct reports.
  • Ensure that all requests made by the wider business upon the warehouse and workshop are carried out and recorded systematically if required for future reference.

Skills/Attributes

  • Degree educated in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management or similar applicable discipline.
  • Experience of managing compliance for a HGV and LCV fleet.
  • Able to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and to changing priorities.
  • Adapt to new system based technologies that assist with workload forecasting and allocation.
  • Practitioner of either Six Sigma or knowledge, experience of TQM based operational process design.
  • Management of a warehouse environment and maintaining productivity including resource planning.
  • General management skills including effective people management.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good understanding of the installation, on-going maintenance and repair business operating model.
  • Intermediate/Advanced practitioner of all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of building/reporting on key operational Supply Chain and Logistical metrics.
