JLA Clean secures contracts worth £10m in first year
Ripponden-based JLA is celebrating after securing contracts worth more than £10million for its JLA Clean range of detergents, just one year after launch.
The company, a leading name in the supply of commercial laundry and warewashing equipment, launched the JLA Clean range following discussions with its customers which revealed a clear need for quality detergents that provided a high standard of cleaning. Such has been the success in the first year that the company has signed up more than 2,000 customers to contracts averaging four years, selling more than 1.2 million litres of liquid detergent since launch last January.
The company works with customers across a wide range of sectors. Current JLA Clean clients include a number of sports teams, such as Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool Football Clubs, care homes network Mimosa Healthcare, exclusive dry cleaning and laundry company MacGill of Kensington and pie-makers Pork Farms.
The company expects to see sales this year alone top more than £3million. Stephen Baxter, CEO of JLA, said: “The launch of JLA Clean was a major step for us and the result of us listening to our customers to develop the products that they need.
“With 40 years’ heritage as a leader in the industry, we are in the position to constantly research and develop new products, based on our insight into our customers’ businesses.
“The launch of JLA Clean was a result of this proactive approach, and we developed the range to help customers to get the best out of our machines to help deliver cost and efficiency savings.
“We are thrilled that so many customers have already recognised these benefits to their businesses and we are continuing to sign up around 20 new customers each week. Being able to offer our customers their detergents as well as machines means we can provide the full package, taking optimum care of their products and enabling them to produce the best possible wash.”
Ron Millar, estates manager for Mimosa Healthcare, said:
“We have achieved cost savings across our general cleaning operations, and the detergents we now use have played a big part in that. Using the right detergent is key to falling in line with industry guidance, which sets out that homes should have a process in place to deliver ‘visibly clean’ laundry that is ‘not damaged or discoloured’. We also benefit from a direct ‘drop-off’ service to each of our homes, whereby engineers deliver the detergents and take them to the point of storage/use. Staff don’t have to lift heavy containers – which is great for health & safety – and they have more time to concentrate on other duties.”
JLA is the country’s leading supplier of commercial laundry and dishwashing equipment. Its unique, all-inclusive Total Care package offers customers machine supply, seven-day breakdown cover with no wear and tear clause, along with a 24/7 helpline.
Available for a simple monthly payment, Total Care also includes an 8-working hour response guarantee, whereby customers are paid £100 if an engineer is not on-site in that time, and a promise of no repair bills, ever. JLA’s growth strategy helped it to increase turnover by 13% to £61million in 2011/12 and the company expects to see impressive growth again this year with the continued uptake of JLA’s range of laundry, dishwashing, sluice room and detergent product lines.
